My EXIF data, NYCC, Katsucon and Thank you

Thu Jan 22, 2009, 12:02 AM
EXIF data

So this seems to be coming up a lot lately. Honestly, I don't think about it. I save everything for the web, since I'm used to having to site things properly for websites. Sadly, this gets rid of the EXIF data. If anyone was curious about it, I'd more than post it. (If I still have it, that is. I've lost a lot of originals over the years) So please, just ask!

NYCC

I will be in attendance! So will my husband! I'm bringing Supergirl and Adam and I will be wearing Mulder and Scully at some point.

Katsucon!

Adam will be with me here as well. I'm bringing Lelouch, WHR, Bunny Haruhi and Amu from Shugo Chara.

Everyone, thank you so much for all the great comments about my recent marriage. Adam and I were overwhelmed with the responses. You guys are so awesome <3

Are you going to AnimeNEXT?

I went last year and it was a ton of fun, there is a possibility for this year as well. Just sucks they moved the location.

I agree. My best friend lives literally two minutes away from the Secaucus convention center. It was quite convenient to just stay at her place for the weekend. But she and I are still going. We already booked a suite about .4 miles away for about $150 for two nights (so $75 a person). We plan on doing minor cooking while we are down there to save money on food. Supposedly the new place is bigger.

What are you using to process your photos, if its losing Exif? Lightroom exports all Exif data (with embedded XMP as well), and Photo should do the same for normally saving images. I've never used the specific "Save for web" thing tho, as I like doing all my own settings. :P

Photoshop CS3, saving for web makes the image smaller without losing quality, so it dumps the EXIF data. It's perfect for putting things on the web. Less loading time. You can also make your own settings.

hhmmm... I have Photoshop CS2, tho i only work with TIFFs in it. :P (yeah, i pre-process things in lightroom, edit as TIFF in CS2, then use Lightroom to export TIFF as final image)

im guessing the "save for web" really doesnt do much else outside of stripping things like Exif heads tho? otherwise it would enter the relm of loss of quality to save space...
